It Started With a Thermostat Code

I don't think $11,900 is crazy for that equipment, and it would have been my pick if we planned to keep the building for twenty years. Our lease expires in six. The payback wasn't there.
The Install Day Surprise: Propane Heater and a Failing Solenoid Valve
The Vendor B crew showed up on a Wednesday. They had the new Carrier condenser on the roof by 8 AM, and by noon the old line set was out. That's when our maintenance supervisor walked into the warehouse loading bay and said he could smell propane.
We have two propane heaters in that bay, and the smaller one had been cycling oddly for about a week. We flagged it, but the AC replacement pushed it down the list.
