Here's the thing about heating systems: there's no universal "best" option. I know that's not the answer you were hoping for, but it's the truth.

Scenario 1: You're Heating a Full Commercial Building

On the other hand, if you're cooling a space that runs 10+ hours a day — a workshop, a florist shop, a music studio — the high-efficiency unit can pay for itself in 3-4 years through energy savings alone.
Put another way: buy efficiency for the systems that run constantly. Don't overpay for efficiency in systems that barely run. Simple.
Scenario 3: You Need to Heat a Pool
Pool heating is a completely different animal. People ask me whether they can pull heat from their existing HVAC system or use an oversized water heater. Please don't do that. You need a dedicated pool heater, or you'll get poor results and a thick stack of repair bills.
For pool heating, you have two practical choices:

The catch is upfront cost — they're more expensive to purchase and install, and they need a bigger gas line or more electric service.
